Ahvare Galbreath: Clarksville HS Running Back Making His Mark in Tennessee
Class of 2027 | Running Back | Clarksville High School | 190 lbs
Friday nights at Clarksville High School bring a great atmosphere, with the stands filled with students and supporters. In the middle of it all, junior running back Ahvare Galbreath continues to make his presence felt as one of Tennessee’s most productive young ball carriers.
Galbreath credits Clarksville running backs coach Jay Bailey for helping develop his game, particularly when it comes to understanding how to hit the holes and becoming a more physical runner.
“I want to play running back at the next level,” Galbreath says.
And his running style reflects that ambition.
Galbreath is a downhill, physical runner who isn't afraid to attack defenders and finish runs. He also has the ability to make plays in the open field once he gets into space. When describing his style of play, Galbreath compares himself to Tennessee football legend Derrick Henry, pointing to his physical approach and downhill mentality.
The Class of 2027 running back has already generated interest beyond Tennessee.
Galbreath has been in contact with Kentucky Wesleyan about football opportunities, while also receiving interest from Northwestern in both football and wrestling. Academically, he plans to major in business at the next level.
Galbreath has been around the game for nearly his entire life, beginning to play football at just three years old. That early introduction to the sport has translated into production on Friday nights.
Through the current season, Galbreath has rushed for 1,145 yards, making him the leading rusher in the state of Tennessee.
With his physical running style, production and desire to continue playing beyond high school, Galbreath is a name college programs should continue to monitor as the Class of 2027 recruiting cycle develops.
