Just a few weeks ago, we were on the sideline with Huff and his Southern Miss staff against Texas State. On Monday, December 8, the University of Memphis announced the hiring of Huff as its newest head coach. Memphis, long a passionate sports hub, has recently been rejuvenated by the star power of Grizzlies point guard Ja Morant. Huff is the kind of coach who can change the trajectory of the city as a whole. Memphis now has its sports Mount Rushmore: Coach Huff(noted as one of the best recruiters in the country), Coach Penny(NBA legend) , and Morant(Rising NBA Star).
