When you talk about true versatility in the Class of 2027, TJ Bailey is a name that continues to rise.
At 6’2”, 177 pounds, Bailey fits the modern definition of an ATH, a complete athlete capable of impacting the game from anywhere on the field.
Lining up at WR, QB, CB, S, and OLB, he’s the type of playmaker coaches build game plans around.
Bailey’s journey started at just seven years old, but the spark came from an encounter with Jabrill Peppers.
While attending a football camp, Peppers told him he should start playing the game, a moment that would shape his future. From that point forward, football became more than a sport; it became a purpose.
Originally known more for his defensive presence, Bailey has evolved into a dynamic offensive weapon. His speed, football IQ, and ability to create separation make him a threat every time he touches the ball. Whether he’s stretching the field vertically, reading coverages under center, or returning kicks, Bailey brings explosive value.
At Newark Central, the coaching staff has played a pivotal role in his development. Bailey speaks highly of a program that made him feel welcome from day one ,one that genuinely prioritizes recruitment and helping its players reach the next level. That culture of support has allowed his confidence and versatility to flourish.
College programs are already taking notice. Bailey currently holds offers from:
University of Memphis
Temple University
Wofford College
Howard University
Delaware State University
University of New Haven
And that list is only expected to grow.
As he heads into the USA Top 100 All-American Game, fans and recruiters can expect a true Swiss Army knife, a versatile competitor who can lock down on defense, flip field position in the return game, and make winning plays on offense.
TJ Bailey isn’t just filling positions.
He’s creating impact.
