Malahky Harris is quickly becoming a name to watch in Oklahoma high school football. A standout slot receiver for Hominy High School, Harris is already turning heads with his impressive combination of speed, agility, and football IQ.
Although he began playing football in the first grade, Harris admits he didn’t start taking the sport seriously until eighth grade. That mindset shift paid off — he earned a starting spot on varsity as a freshman and hasn’t looked back since.
Under the guidance of head coach Caleb Christian — known for his demanding, detail-oriented approach — Harris has continued to develop into a dynamic offensive weapon. He credits legendary NFL wide receivers Jerry Rice and CeeDee Lamb as players he models his game after, combining elite route-running with explosive speed and great hands.
Harris’s play style is defined by his speed — he’s clocked a laser-timed 40-yard dash at 4.51 seconds — and his versatility on the field. He thrives on deep routes, enjoys working the middle on dig routes, and is equally dangerous coming out of the backfield.
In his sophomore season, Harris posted impressive numbers with 800 rushing yards and 400 receiving yards. Now, just four weeks into the current season, he has already racked up 200 rushing yards and 400 receiving yards, showcasing his consistent production and game-breaking ability.
Recruiters are taking notice. Harris has already taken official visits to the University of Oklahoma and the University of Tulsa — a sign that his talent is attracting serious collegiate interest early.
When asked what advice he would give to younger athletes, Harris keeps it simple and grounded:"Take your time and trust God — He will get you there."
With that mindset, his talent, and his work ethic, Malahky Harris is a name you'll be hearing a lot more of in the years to come.
