From humble beginnings in south Georgia, to becoming one of the best defensive backs in the country. Jaquez White has earned the status as one of the top corners in the game. During his time at Troy University, White spoke of having a supernatural focus and while Troy does not have the lures and distractions of a larger cities.

White attributed his on field success to the brotherhood that was formed. In his last season at Troy, White landed a PFF grade of 86.7 and had a coverage score of 86 making him a top target in the transfer portal. White explained the dynamics of his recruitment and how he considered going to Tennessee after visiting. Ultimately, Virginia Tech earned White's trust, loyalty, and commitment.
White's game is simple, he makes plays. He will hit you and he will cover your top target down the field. White spoke of his practice reps against Knoxville native Ayden Greene. "Ayden makes the wildest catches I have ever seen." You think you have him covered and he sticks one hand out at the last minute and makes the play.

White also spoke on the leadership of new coach, James Franklin. He is on us , the bar is set very high. Franklin allows the players to listen to music in practice and in lifts but requires exellence of his players in all things.
